Tracking down every hidden Power Cell in Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the most rewarding quests for players exploring Aloy's post-apocalyptic world. These ancient relics are required to complete the Ancient Armory side quest and claim the game's ultimate defensive gear. Understanding where each cell is hidden ensures you will not miss any during major story missions.

Finding Early Game Power Cells

The first Power Cell can be retrieved when revisiting the subterranean ruins from Aloy's childhood near Mother's Watch. You must use Aloy's spear to break through rock formations and pry open sealed doors to reach the item sitting on a desk.

A second Power Cell is located inside the All-Mother Temple right after completing the Proving storyline mission. Look for a side doorway that can be opened before leaving the inner mountain chambers. If missed early on, players can return to this room later in the narrative.

Mid to Late Game Power Cell Locations

As Aloy travels beyond the Nora territories, the third Power Cell becomes accessible at the top of Maker's End. After reaching Faro's office during the main quest, climb the exterior scaffolding above the office to find the cell resting near the ledge.

The fourth item rests deep within the icy ruins of the Grave-Hoard facility. After opening the electronic lock mechanism, you will spot the cell sitting on the ground near the doorway. The final Power Cell is located in GAIA Prime during the quest titled The Mountain That Fell.

Unlocking the Ancient Armory and Rewards

Once all five Power Cells are collected, bring them back to the hidden bunker between the Sacred Lands and Carja territory. Solving two sets of hololock dial puzzles will unseal the ancient containment chamber.

Your reward is the powerful Shield-Weaver outfit, which grants Aloy a rechargeable energy barrier that completely absorbs incoming damage. This extraordinary armor set turns challenging combat encounters into manageable fights, making the search for every Power Cell well worth the effort.
